journalman's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smart vs Good Grades I'm amazed at how some educated people can actually confuse academic accomplishment with 'being smart'. There is a chasmic difference between "being" anything and "doing" things. Good grades mean you did something. In other words, smart people do things in smart ways. A smart person lives their life in a way that other less-smart people will envy. To just have good grades and then manage your life in a totally dumb way is not to 'be smart'. 7:36 p.m. - 2006-10-26 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
